AIG On the Go will score your driving performance every time you are behind the wheel and based on your score, offer you up to 15% off your AIG vehicle insurance premium. Using telematics, measure your driving performance against a range of factors such as acceleration, braking, cornering and speed limits which will empower you to be a better and safer driver.

As long as you have a motor vehicle registered to your name in Singapore and record your every drive, you can participate in every contest that the app has to offer!

Do you have what it takes to be the best driver in Singapore?

From 1 March to 30 June 2017, the driver with the overall highest driving score during this period will receive the title of AIG’s “Best Driver in Singapore” and win these great prizes!

Simply register for the contest through AIG On the Go and select your team, i.e. join either the men or women's team. AIG On the Go will track and tabulate each team’s average score from 1 March to 30 April 2017. At the end of the contest, the team with the higher average score will win the contest and the top 50 drivers from the winning team will each receive a customised AIG CashCard with S$50 stored value (and perpetual bragging rights!).

As part of our mission to improve road safety around the world, AIG is turning safety into real dollar savings. Providing an extra incentive to Singapore’s safest drivers, AIG on the Go will score your driving performance against certain key driving parameters, such as acceleration, speed, braking and cornering. Based on that score, AIG will offer you a discount on your next vehicle insurance premium. The higher your score, the more your discount! It’s that simple! But don’t worry – even if you did not manage a high score, we assure you that your premium will not be affected. To find out how your score translates into a discount, go to the “My Discount” section of AIG On the Go (select the “%” tab when you enter the app) to find out more or refer to the table below.

Terms and Conditions

1.  Eligibility

1.1 The Best Driver in Singapore Contest is organised by AIG Asia Pacific Insurance Pte. Ltd. (“AIG”).

1.2 The Contest will run from 1 March 2017 and ends on 30 June 2017 (“Contest Period”). The last date you can enter the Contest is 30 June 2017 (see “How to Participate” for further details).

1.3 To be eligible to participate in the Contest (“Eligible Contest”), you must meet all of the following criteria:

  • You must hold a valid Singapore driving licence.
  • You must be at least 18 years of age or older, when you enter the Contest.
  • You must be a Singapore resident.
  • You must not be an employee of AIG or any affiliated company.
  • The motor vehicle you register when you enter the Contest must be registered in your name.
  • You do not have to be an AIG customer to participate in the Contest.

2.  Prizes

2.1 The winner stands to win prizes worth S$10,000 in total:

Free Fuel for one year valued at S$5,000 + Car Spa vouchers worth S$2,000 + a customised AIG CashCard with S$3,000 stored value. The prizes cannot be converted to cash or other products and is non-transferrable.

3. Consent

By joining this Contest, you agree that AIG may collect, use and disclose your name and image (optional) for advertising and promotional purposes, in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 and AIG's data privacy policy, in the event you win the Contest.

 

How to Participate

1.  How do I enter and compete in this Contest?

This is how you can enter and participate in this Contest:

a) First, download the AIG On the Go app via Apple's App Store or Google's Play Store and register to use it.

b) Fill in the information required in the “Personal Information” section of the app. The information is necessary, as it enables us to verify that you meet the eligibility criteria for the Contest. Once you have completed a) and b), you are automatically enrolled in the “Best Driver in Singapore Contest”.

c) Please note that during the course of the Contest, your score and first name will be displayed on the public scoreboard of AIG On the Go if you are one of the top 3 drivers in the Contest.

d) Every time you get behind the wheel, AIG On the Go will score your driving performance for that trip. Each score you receive will count towards your overall score for the period of the Contest.  

e) You must only use the vehicle you have registered with AIG On the Go for this Contest.

f)  You have to record a minimum total distance of 100 kilometres on AIG On the Go for the Contest Period. Otherwise, you will not be eligible for the Contest.

g)  A trip only counts in the Contest if it is a trip which has taken place within Singapore.

2.  How do I win?

At the end of the Contest Period, if you have the highest overall score amongst all the participants in the Contest, you will be our Grand Winner!

3.  What if more than one participant has the same score at the end of the Contest?

If more than one participant has recorded the same score at the end of the Contest, we will determine the winner based on the one who has travelled the most distance, followed by the most number of trips recorded during the Contest Period.

If these participants have the exact same scores recorded after these additional criteria are applied, the winner will be the driver who has the superior score for:

  • least over speeding,
  • (or if the participants still have equal scores) the least harsh braking,
  • (or if the participants still have equal scores) the least harsh cornering.

4.  Who is the judge?

The decision is based on the metrics of the AIG On the Go app.

In the event of any dispute, AIG’s decision will be final. AIG reserves the right to disqualify any individual at any time who, in AIG’s sole opinion, behaves fraudulently or misleadingly or in a manner which prejudices the fairness and integrity of the Contest. AIG’s discretion is absolute and its decision is final.

5.  When will the results of the Contest be announced?

AIG aims to announce the results of the Contest in July 2017 on its website at www.aig.com.sg, and the individual winner will be notified via email.

2.  What if the average score for both teams is exactly the same at the end of the Contest Period i.e. it is a draw?

In this scenario, the top 50 participants in each team will each receive a customised AIG CashCard with S$50 stored value.

3.  Who is the judge?

FAQs

AIG On the Go will score your driving performance based on these factors:

  • Acceleration events
  • Exceeding the speed limit
  • Breaking events
  • Cornering speed
  • Average speed
  • Distance travelled

To report an issue with any of your trips, click on "MY TRIPS" in the app and select the specific trip in question. Next, click on "MAP" and tap anywhere within the mapped completed trip to provide your feedback in the pop-up box.

A score is the overall rating of your driving performance based on various factors (see FAQ above).

It ranges from 40 to 100. Your score can be found on the main screen of the app when you open AIG On the Go.

While each trip is assigned its own score, the overall score is recalculated and updated after each trip.

You will be contacted via email and/or notified through the Rewards section of AIG On the Go.

At the login screen, please click on 'Forgot Password'. A temporary password/code will be sent to your email, with instructions on how to set a new password.

Only one vehicle can be registered to each AIG On the Go account created. The account holder must be the registered owner of the vehicle.

Yes. At the login screen, please click on “Connect with Facebook” to create an AIG On the Go account using your Facebook details. If you did not do so at the point of creating your account, you can still connect your AIG On the Go account to your Facebook account via your profile page after login.

You can also share your AIG On the Go activities on Facebook.

No, your score will not affect your existing or renewal premium. Similarly, if you are a new AIG customer, your low score on AIG On the Go will not result in a higher premium being charged. AIG On the Go is part of AIG’s mission to improve road safety in the community by raising greater awareness of the benefits of safe driving.

AIG On the Go only recognises users based on the email address provided. If you change your email address, you will need to re-register as a new user on AIG On the Go. Your scores in the old account will not be transferred
to your new account.

The discount on vehicle insurance premium is calculated based on the real-time distance travelled (in kilometres) recorded on the app and the driving score attained. Refer to the table below.

For instance, if your score is 90 and the distance you have driven falls within 100 and 400 kilometres, you will be entitled to a 7% discount. If your score drops to 84, and the distance you have driven still falls within 100 and 400 kilometres, your discount will decrease to 5%.

 

Your phone’s GPS signal is used in measuring your driving performance. Hence, if the GPS signal on your phone is weak, this will affect the accuracy of the data.  There can be multiple causes for the weak GPS signal, such as poor reception in high buildings, tunnels, line-of-sight obstructions etc
