Student Assist FAQs

The cover will begin on the date stated on the application form. It will end when the period of insurance ends or when the insured person returns to Singapore permanently, whichever is earlier.

Yes. Your parents or authorised representatives can apply for Student Assist on your behalf. Note that the policy will take effect on the date stated in the application form and only after we have received the full premium.

Yes. Note that the policy will take effect on the date stated in the application form only after we have received the full premium.

No. The plan only covers luggage and other belongings you take along with you when you travel to the country of study.

Whether you can get a refund depends on the type of policy you hold:

6-month policy

No refund.

1-year policy


 

50% refund if the policy is cancelled within 6 months from the policy start date and if no claim is made during that period.
No refund if the policy is cancelled after 6 months from the policy start date.

It does not cover any loss, injury or damage arising from:

  • Acts of war
  • Participation in illegal acts
  • Professional and/or competitive sports
  • Pregnancy or childbirth
  • Suicide, self-inflected or injury
  • AIDS
  • Mental and nervous disorders
  • Medical pre-existing condition

The plan does not cover any travel in, to, or through these countries:

  • Afghanistan
  • Cuba
  • Democratic Republic of Congo
  • Iran
  • Iraq
  • Liberia
  • Sudan
  • Syria
  • Crimea region
